Tom Welling and Michael Rosenbaum Reportedly NOT Appearing in ‘Crisis on Infinite Earths’

Since the Arrowverse’s crossover spectacle Crisis on Infinite Earths was announced, a slew of past DC stars have been confirmed to appear in the event such as Burt Ward (1960s Robin), Kevin Conroy (longtime Batman voice actor) and Brandon Routh (cinematic Superman in 2006’s Superman Returns).

However, it seems that two popular actors from a long-running series based on a DC property have ruled themselves out of the event.

Tom Welling and Michael Rosenbaum, who played Clark Kent and Lex Luthor in Smallville (2001-2011), recently addressed speculation that they would be reprising their roles for Crisis.

During an appearance at Fan Expo Canada, Welling said, “Whatever this Crisis thing you guys are talking about, it’s not happening.” He and Rosenbaum continued by adding they had not even been contacted about potentially appearing.

This news comes around the same time as Rosenbaum crediting Smallville for the recent success of Arrowverse series such as Arrow, The Flash and Supergirl.

This Is Us on NBC will be returning for its fourth season on September 24 and the first-look trailer at the Pearson family’s upcoming adventures has been released, following the announcement that the show had been renewed for three additional seasons, which will likely serve as the back half of the entire series.

The trailer for Season 4, released on August 31, both confirmed the returns of beloved characters while also briefly introducing us to new faces and obviously the actors portraying them.

In a recent appearance on Watch What Happens Live, series star Milo Ventimiglia (Jack Pearson) teased that ‘the world expands’.

Newly revealed cast members include recent Once Upon A Time alum Jennifer Morrison as a member of the armed forces as well as Morrison’s former House co-star Omar Epps as a mechanic.

Alongside Ventimiglia, main cast members Mandy Moore, Sterling K. Brown, Chrissy Metz, Justin Hartley, Susan Kelechi Watson, Chris Sullivan, Jon Huertas, Eris Baker, Faithe Herman and Lyric Ross will also return, alongside former regular Ron Cephas Jones (William).

This Is Us returns on September 24, on NBC.

Who is tom cavanagh playing in THE FLASH SEASON 6 and who has he portrayed previously?

Throughout his five-year and counting experience on The Flash, actor Tom Cavanagh has had an experience like no other.

Across all five aired seasons to date, Cavanagh has played at least one new character while keeping some fan-favourites on the backburner.

In Season 1, he played “Harrison Wells”, a scientist who helped Barry Allen hone his powers and subsequently turned out to be Eobard Thawne/Reverse Flash.

Season 2 brought another although completely different scientist, Harry Wells, while Season 3 featured novelist HR. Season 4 had an array within the Council of Wells while we met master detective Sherloque Wells in season 5.

Recent leaked images and videos from Canadagraphs have given a first look at who Cavanagh will be playing in Season 6.

As well as the pivotal character Pariah in the upcoming Crisis on Infinite Earths crossover, he will also be playing a new version of Wells, one that is reminiscent of Indiana Jones.

STEPHEN AMELL to topline wrestling drama ‘heels’

Stephen Amell’s post Oliver Queen career has already begun.

Per Vulture, the current Arrow star and centrepiece of the wider Arrowverse television franchise, will make the move to Starz to star in Heels, a new drama with an eight episode pick-up.

The part is right up Amell’s alley — a known wrestling fan, he made appearances with both WWE and the highly publicised All In event.

For those less knowledgeable about wrestling, a ‘heel’ is the wrestling terminology for an in-ring villain. Their opposition, the heroes, are called ‘babyfaces’ or just ‘faces’ for short.

Deadline reported that Amell will play Jack Spade, a wrestler performing as a ‘charismatic villain’ for the Duffy Wrestling Association while being a father and company’s hard-working owner in real life.

Mike O’Malley, former Glee star and creator of Survivor’s Remorse, is set as showrunner.

MASKED SINGER – Who Will Be in Season 2?

Smash-hit reality singing competition The Masked Singer will return for its second season from September 25, after a successful run earlier this year.

The big question now is: Who will be in Season 2? Last season’s unmasked competitors’ combined achievements included 65 Grammy nominations, 16 Emmy nominations, 4 Super Bowl titles and 4 stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, among others.

Although recognisable for the most part, some of the unmasked singers are not as relevant now, in 2019, as they were during the peak in their career. However, rumours have suggested that now the show is a hit and has some caché, they will be able to secure higher-profile participants.

While I obviously do not know who the celebrities are (that would ruin the point of the show), some of this season’s costumes have been disclosed through a trailer as well as interviews with Nick Cannon and the judging panel.

As of August 18 (time of writing), 11 of the costumes have been disclosed. They are: Butterfly, Eagle, Egg, Flamingo, Fox, Ice Cream, Leopard, Panda, Rottweiler, Skeleton and Tree.

It is interesting to note that there are more off-the wall characters compared to last season. Other than the Monster, Alien, Unicorn and Pineapple, all of the other costumes were animals. This time, there is a wider variety with new ideas explored such as a Tree.

Whether the remaining 5 costumes will be made known to the public before the premiere is anyone’s guess. If not, it is only a short wait until September 25.

Is Tom Welling in crisis on infinite earths?

Greg Berlanti’s Arrowverse franchise on the CW will launch into its sixth annual crossover event in the winter — famed comic storyline Crisis on Infinite Earths. As the title implies, it features heroes and villains from all over the multiverse – alternate Earths with different vibrational frequencies.

A number of famous DC-related stars have already been confirmed for the special event, including 1960s Robin actor Burt Ward and longtime Batman voice actor Kevin Conroy from Batman the Animated Series and Batman Beyond.

One name that has yet to be confirmed — and people want to see — is Tom Welling.

For those who are not aware, Welling played Clark Kent in the series Smallville which ran for 10 seasons on what was then the WB, now CW. In the series, fans never got to see Welling suit up fully as Clark’s famous alter-ego — Superman.

Naturally, this crossover event is the perfect opportunity to finally see Welling suit up, as it were. Interestingly, Welling is a friend of franchise centrepiece Stephen Amell who plays Oliver Queen – the Arrow of the Arrowverse.

Another suggestion that has been discussed is that Welling play a version of Batman. There are already two iterations of Superman in Crisis – Arrowverse regular Tyler Hoechlin and Legends of Tomorrow star Brandon Routh, reprising his role from 2006’s Superman Returns.

In the past few days, Welling has stirred up rumours once again of his involvement, with his reply to a fan’s comment on Instagram. Here it is below.

Of course, Welling could simply be joking — he has already done this by teasing a role in Arrow‘s eighth season, so it’s important to take this with a grain of salt.

Considering the large role Welling has played in the history of DCTV — 10 years is a long time, after all — it would be very disappointing if he does not appear in Crisis, when considering the calibre of names that are confirmed.
