caroline flack & jason davis
News of two sudden, shock celebrity deaths have become known in the past week. UK television presenter Caroline Flack passed away on February 15 while actor and oil heir Jason Davis died the following day.
Flack, who was 40 years old, took her own life. She had been working on UK television for nearly two decades, known for hosting such shows as Love Island, The X Factor, The Xtra Factor and I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here Now.
In December 2019, Flack had been charged with assault on her boyfriend Lewis Burton leading to her voluntary exit from Love Island after four years.
Davis was both a voice actor and an onscreen child actor. His best known role was as Mikey Blumberg (above) on Disney’s Recess on which he starred from 1997 to 2001 for six seasons.
A theatrically released film based on Recess was also released in 2001.
He was the son of Nancy Davis, who was herself the daughter of late billionaire industrialist Marvin Davis. His father was wine grower Nebil Zerif.
In more recent years, Davis was known for his struggles with addiction – with appearances on Celebrity Rehab with Dr Drew as well as a 2011 arrest for possession of a controlled substance.
Besides Recess, Davis also appeared in episodes of acclaimed series such as Roseanne and 7th Heaven.
His cause of death is unknown as of writing.

How Riverdale Paid A Poignant Tribute to the late Luke Perry
It has been seven months since beloved actor Luke Perry’s sudden death at 52, due to a stroke. On Wednesday, his show Riverdale, on which Perry played Fred Andrews, aired a special tribute episode – ‘In Memoriam’ which paid homage to both the actor and the character, who also tragically died at the beginning of the hour.
Before Perry even stepped foot in Riverdale, however, he was adored by another generation of fans in the classic series Beverly Hills 90210 as the heartthrob bad boy Dylan McKay for ten years, on and off.
With this in mind, the Riverdale episode had a very special guest star in the form of Shannen Doherty, Perry’s co-star on Beverly Hills 90210, who starred as his love interest Brenda Walsh. I will not spoil what exact role Doherty played in the tribute, in case you are not caught up, but her scenes are very moving.
Riverdale also reflected how deeply the character of Fred’s loss would be felt in his beloved town. Those in mourning range from Hiram and Hermione Lodge, to Pop Tate. As well as KJ Apa and Molly Ringwald, Perry’s on-screen family, Cole Sprouse, Camila Mendes, Lili Reinhart and Skeet Ulrich also delivered particularly heartbreaking performances in reaction to Fred’s death.
And that’s just it – “performances”. The fact that most, if not all of the sadness, anger and confusion displayed here is in fact real makes the whole thing far sadder than a character dying, but the actor still being alive in real life. The emotion was palpable. I could feel it and was deeply affected and moved.
ROBIN WILLIAMS – AN ODE TO THE LATE ACTOR
Five years ago yesterday, on August 11, 2014, the world was in shock upon hearing that Robin Williams, legendary actor and comedian, had committed suicide. He was 63.
Williams was an actor that I loved watching while growing up. He appeared in many classic films that I remember from my childhood – Mrs. Doubtfire, Hook, Jumanji, Jack, Night at the Museum. Then, later, seeing some of his dramatic work such as Dead Poets Society and Good Will Hunting, which was equally wonderful.
It is unfortunate and tragic that someone who brought so much joy to countless people worldwide, was himself suffering internally. The entertainment industry is much poorer with his loss.
Rest well, Robin Williams.
ACTRESS DENISE NICKERSON DIES AT 62
On Thursday, July 11, it was announced that American actress Denise Nickerson had passed away at the age of 62, after suffering respiratory distress and pneumonia, subsequently being taken off of life support by her family.
Nickerson was best known for her role as bratty Violet Beauregarde in the classic 1971 film Willy Wonka And The Chocolate Factory. She is the first of the five central children to pass away.
RIP CAMERON BOYCE (1999-2019)
On Sunday, July 7, 2019, the world learned the tragic news of Disney actor Cameron Boyce’s passing from a sudden seizure. He was 20 years old.
Being a peer of Cameron’s in age, I was part of the generation that grew up watching him, whether it was on Jessie (2011-2015) or the Grown Ups film series (2010-2013). He also played a character with my own name, Conor, on Gamer’s Guide to Pretty Much Everything (2015-2017).
“Luke Ross”, his character on Jessie was one of the more memorable — cool, charming and shamelessly flirtatious to Jessie, a much older woman. Many people’s favourite in fact.
By all accounts, Cameron was a kind-hearted, generous person who wanted to do good in the world. It is extremely sad and unfortunate that his life was cut short in such a tragic and instant way.
His former Jessie co-stars, Debby Ryan (Jessie) and Kevin Chamberlin (Bertram), each shared a video in which Cameron spoke about using social media positively. Other notable co-stars such as Adam Sandler, Salma Hayek, Peyton List and Skai Jackson have also paid tribute on social media.
Once again, RIP Cameron Boyce.
Thoughts go out to the family.
