ITV’s The Masked Singer aired its penultimate episode tonight (February 8) and in the competitive semi-finals, we bid farewell to both Fox and Monster, revealed as Denise Van Outen and Cee Lo Green, respectively.
This leaves only three costumed characters still in the running going into next Saturday’s final; Queen Bee, Octopus and Hedgehog. All three have had multiple guesses made online regarding their identities since the programme began in January.
Who exactly are our finalists, though? Let’s take a look at some popular theories as well as who the most likely candidate is.
Queen Bee

Some of Queen Bee’s clues have alluded to the fact that she is ‘now grown up and longer princess’, introduced a law and the person has link to the song Girl on Fire by Alicia Keys, which was a clue in an earlier round.
Well, one former girl band singer who has introduced a law and has flaming red hair (hence ‘girl on fire’) is Girls Aloud member Nicola Roberts. Sources also corroborate another of Queen Bee’s clues, her shyness, with Nicola.

Some other guesses have included both Jade Thirlwall and Jesy Nelson of Little Mix as well as Game Of Thrones stars Emilia Clarke and Maisie Williams.
octopus

Octopus thus far has showcased an operatic range to her voice, a connection to Jason Donovan, The Apprentice and Neighbours as well as a mention of ‘weight/wait training’.
One prevalent guess that fits multiple clues is former Emmerdale actress Sheree Murphy, who appeared with Donovan in I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Here. In old interviews, Murphy also discusses exercise and fitness.
In the most recent episode, judge Jonathan Ross connected a ‘bring the house down clue’ to a helicopter crash that had occurred in Emmerdale.

Other guesses for Octopus have included Love Island presenter Laura Whitmore, Courtney Act and Charlotte Church.
hedgehog

Hedgehog has made definite references to being a performer of some description, though the judges are generally confused whether he is a comedian or based in musical theatre. His hero is Billy Connolly, the Oasis song Don’t Look Back In Anger was a clue and he described himself as an ‘ordinary guy’.
While many have theorised that names such as Alfie Boe, Michael Ball, Michael Crawford or Alexander Armstrong are under the mask, I believe our mystery man is comedian Jason Manford.
Hear me out! First of all, Manford has a singing voice that sounds remarkably similar to Hedgehog, he followed Connolly’s career path of being a comedian and he hails from Manchester much like Oasis.

Aside from the names mentioned above, other guesses have included comedians such as Rufus Hound, Michael McIntyre, Joe Lycett and Jack Whitehall.
The final of The Masked Singer airs on February 15 at 7PM, ITV.
