The first episode of ITV’s The Masked Singer has aired and one celebrity singer’s identity has been revealed. Before we get into which character was unmasked and who revealed person was, let’s take a look at all six masked competitors that sang for host Joel Dommett, judges Ken Jeong, Rita Ora, Jonathan Ross and Davina McCall as well as the viewing audience.
Queen Bee kicked off the episode and indeed the show. For her face-off with fellow performer Duck, she performed “Alive” by Sia.
Unfortunately, she lost the face-off and would be in the bottom three at the end of the episode.
This extravagant, extroverted creature performed “Babooshka” by Kate Bush while competing against Butterfly.
Scottish-American actor, presenter and singer John Barrowman is already a frontrunner to be under the mask while other guesses include Glee star Kevin McHale, comedian Joe Lycett and Scissor Sisters frontman Jake Shears.
Butterfly faced Unicorn with “You Got The Love” by The Source featuring Candi Staton. Following Duck, she lost this face off and joined the bottom three.
Chameleon faced Hedgehog in the final face off of the night, performing “Creep” by Radiohead. He fell short and joined both Duck and Butterfly in the bottom three.
Hedgehog was the final performer of the night, singing “Black Magic” by Little Mix against Chameleon.
Duck, Butterfly and Chameleon made up the bottom three. Of the trio, the judging panel of Ross, McCall, Jeong and Ora decided to send Butterfly home.
