Mike Flanagan’s sequel to The Haunting of Hill House has dropped on Netflix. Meet the cast of The Haunting of Bly Manor, which includes both new and familiar faces.

The Haunting of Bly Manor dropped on Netflix on October 9, 2020. Created by Mike Flanagan, it is an adaptation of Henry James’ novella The Turn of The Screw and serves as a sequel of sorts to Flanagan’s earlier series, The Haunting of Hill House. However, the storylines of the two shows are entirely separate.

Some of the Hill House cast members returned as regulars for Bly Manor and are joined by newcomers to the Haunting universe. Keep reading to meet the cast of The Haunting of Bly Manor.

Dani Clayton (Victoria Pedretti)

Victoria Pedretti, who played the role of ‘Nell Crain’ in Hill House, returns as the new, lead character of Bly Manor. She plays Dani Clayton, a young American woman with a troubled past. In 1987, Dani becomes the new governess (or ‘nanny’) to a pair of somewhat strange children at Bly Manor, in England.

Aside from the Haunting of Bly Manor, 25-year-old Pedretti also appeared as ‘Love Quinn’ in the second season of another Netflix series, You. She has also starred in films including Once Upon A Time In Hollywood (as Leslie Van Houten) and Shirley (as Katherine).

Henry Wingrave (Henry Thomas)

Henry Thomas also returns from The Haunting of Hill House, likewise playing a different character. This time, he plays Henry Wingrave, a shrewd businessman with a detached relationship with his niece and nephew, also his only surviving family.

Thomas is of course well-known for his role as Elliott in E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial. Earlier in 2020, Thomas appeared in a recurring role on DC’s Stargirl as Dr. Charles McNider/Dr Mid-Nite.

Peter Quint (Oliver Jackson-Cohen)

The third and final Hill House regular to play a major role on Bly Manor, Jackson-Cohen takes on the role of Peter Quint, a charming employee of Henry Thomas’ character Henry Wingrave, while also sharing interactions with other characters.

Jackson-Cohen has also appeared as Adrian Griffin in the 2020 Invisible Man remake, directed by Saw co-creator Leigh Whannell. He will also appear opposite Olivia Colman in The Lost Daughter, adapted and directed by Maggie Gyllenhaal.

Hannah Grose (T’Nia Miller)

Actress T’Nia Miller makes her Haunting universe debut as Hannah Grose, the long-serving and loyal Housekeeper of Bly Manor and one of the few ‘staff’ working there besides Dani.

Miller has previously appeared as ‘DC Wilton’ in the BBC series Witless. The actress’ other roles in her native UK include Marcella, Doctor Who, Death In Paradise, Years and Years and Free Rein.

Owen Sharma (Rahul Kohli)

Restaurant trained chef and Bly resident Owen Sharma works as the cook/dependable jack-of-all trades at Bly Manor, having been employed there for a few years prior to Dani’s arrival.

Rahul Kohli plays the role on The Haunting of Bly Manor. The London-born actor is perhaps best known for playing Dr. Ravi Chakrabarti on The CW’s iZombie and also appeared in Supergirl and Harley Quinn.

Jamie (Amelia Eve)

Jamie is the young, rebellious gardener at Bly Manor, who, like the other staff, also helps out with the children when necessary. Although presenting a hard exterior, Jamie has shown herself to be more sensitive than first impressions might let on.

According to Eve’s IMDB, her only other television appearance prior to The Haunting of Bly Manor was in a 2018 episode of Enterprice, for BBC. Eve will also be starring in upcoming films, such as Big Boys Don’t Cry, Shadowland, Dorcha and Phea.

Miles Wingrave (Benjamin Evan Ainsworth)

Precocious Miles Wingrave is the elder of Bly Manor’s duo of somewhat strange children, nephew of Henry Wingrave and son to the late Charlotte and Dominic Wingrave. A troubled boy recently expelled from Boarding School, he presents trouble for Dani in her new job.

Miles is played by Benjamin Evan Ainsworth, a young actor from the UK. Ainsworth has appeared in an episode of long-running ITV soap opera Emmerdale and has a role in upcoming Flora and Ulysses.

Flora Wingrave (Amelie Bea Smith)

The younger sister to Miles, cherubic Flora can easily oscillate from childlike innocence to being downright creepy. What on earth could be the reason for this? Being an even younger child than Miles upon losing their parents, she is still dealing with that loss.

Amelie Bea Smith steps into the role of Flora for The Haunting of Bly Manor. In February 2020, Smith was announced as the new voice of Peppa Pig in the long-running cartoon, succeeding Harley Bird. Smith also appeared in multiple episodes of EastEnders in 2018-2019.

Rebecca Jessel (Tahirah Sharif)

Rebecca Jessel is Dani’s predecessor at Bly Manor, who took her own life several months prior to the latter’s arrival. However, if you’re thinking that’s where Rebecca’s story ends with this series, you’re sorely mistaken.

Sharif has also appeared in television series such as Whitechapel, One Night, Casaulty and The First Team, before landing her breakthrough role in The Haunting of Bly Manor.
