The cast of Disney’s Good Luck Charlie reunite on Instagram Live.

Good Luck Charlie, a family oriented sitcom created by Phil Baker and Drew Vaupen, first aired on Disney Channel on April 4, 2010. The series followed the Duncan family living in Denver, Colorado who, at the start of the show, were adjusting to becoming a family of four kids. Charlie, the title character, was the newest addition to the eclectic clan. A fifth child, Toby, was introduced in later seasons.

Filling the roles of the Duncans were: Bridgit Mendler as Teddy, the main character of the series. The actress/singer was best known at the time for playing Juliet on Wizards of Waverly Place. Disney Channel veteran Jason Dolley (Minutemen, Cory In The House) played oldest sibling PJ while newcomers Bradley Steven Perry and Mia Talerico took the roles of Gabe and Charlie, respectively.

The parents, Bob and Amy, were played by established actors Eric Allan Kramer (The Hughleys) and Leigh-Allyn Baker (Will and Grace).

Unlike other Disney Channel shows at the time, Good Luck Charlie was grounded in reality. There were no secret double lives, living in hotels/cruise ships or wizards in sight, instead focusing on a zany family in relatable situations. The show also notably featured Disney Channel’s first same sex couple.

In a 2010 interview with TVGuide.com ahead of the premiere, Jason Dolley compared the series to classic family sitcoms. “When I read [the script], I was like, ‘Oh, this is kind of cool. This is a little different,’. It has a Full House kind of feel. It’s very family-friendly. Families can sit down and watch this and get a real laugh. I think that’s what’s been cool about it from the start and what’s still cool about it today.”

To celebrate Good Luck Charlie‘s ten-year anniversary, the six main cast members – Mendler, Baker, Perry, Talerico, Kramer and Dolley – reunited on Zoom for an interview with Entertainment Tonight.

Among other topics, the cast reminisced on working with Talerico when she was a baby, how the show holds up after a decade as well as addressing the possibility of a Good Luck Charlie reunion movie in the future.

Aside from the primary characters, supporting players in the show included Mrs Dabney (Patricia Belcher), Ivy Wentz (Raven Goodwin), Spencer Walsh (Shane Harper), Emmett (Micah Williams) and Jo Keener (G. Hannelius).

Good Luck Charlie can currently be streamed in its entirety on Disney+
