The Flash star Logan Williams, who played Young Barry Allen, passed away on April 2, 2020. His cause of death has now been confirmed.
Williams played a younger version of Barry Allen/The Flash from 2014 to 2015, for the first two seasons. He was later replaced in the role by Liam Hughes from the third season onwards.
During Williams’ time on the series, he worked alongside actors such as John Wesley Shipp, Michelle Harrison, and Jesse L. Martin.
Williams’ death at the age of 16 was announced on April 3 although the cause was not known until now.
Grant Gustin, who plays the present-day Barry Allen, shared on Instagram at the time that he was “so impressed by not only Logan’s talent but his professionalism on set.”
Williams’ on-screen parents, John Wesley Shipp and Michelle Harrison, also paid tribute to the late young star.
Shipp, who has played multiple roles on the series, including Henry Allen and Jay Garrick, tweeted that “he was 100% committed to playing young Barry Allen, and we missed him once we moved past that part of the story. Love and compassion to Logan’s family and friends in your grief.”
Harrison, who has played Barry’s mother Nora Allen since the pilot episode, posted on Instagram after hearing of Williams’ death.
“Dear Logan. We are so saddened to hear of your sudden passing. Our hearts and prayers are with your family and parents who we grieve along with. Our #flash family met Logan on the pilot episode of @cwtheflash, and were immediately taken with your gentle smile, your professionalism, and your big heart. Rest In Peace sweet soul.”
The Flash returns for its seventh season in 2021 on The CW.
