The Masked Singer finalist “Crocodile” has been revealed as Backstreet Boy, Nick Carter. Find out how he did in the hit FOX reality competition.
All good things must come to an end.
Crocodile’s journey on Season 4 of FOX’s The Masked Singer wrapped up on Wednesday, December 16. A strong vocalist and one of the last three contestants, he battled fellow finalists Mushroom and Sun for the coveted Golden Mask trophy. Crocodile ultimately finished in third place and after weeks of speculation from fans online, it was finally revealed that singer Nick Carter from the Backstreet Boys was the man behind the mask.
During his time as Crocodile, Carter performed songs such as “It’s My Life” by Bon Jovi, “Toxic” by Britney Spears and “Bleeding Love” by Leona Lewis, among others. As a member of “Group B”, he also saw off competition from the likes of actor Mickey Rourke (“Gremlin”), former NFL quarterback Mark Sanchez (“Baby Alien”), NBA player Lonzo Ball (“Whatchamacallit”), singing surgeon Dr. Elvis Francois (“Serpent”) and singer/former American Idol contestant Tori Kelly (“Seahorse”).
Before his appearance on season 4 of The Masked Singer, Carter revealed earlier to TVLine earlier in 2020 that he had been slated to appear as “Turtle” in Season 3 – a costume ultimately worn by singer/actor Jesse McCartney, who finished as runner-up of that season.
Backstreet Boys fans immediately recognized 40-year-old Carter’s voice when he sang. One wrote on Twitter: “I KNOW WHO CROCODILE IS! HE IS NONE OTHER THAN NICK CARTER FROM THE BACKSTREET BOYS!” Another added: “There’s no doubt in my mind Crocodile is Nick Carter from Backstreet Boys. The voice matches him, the clues match his life, hell even the Crocodile outfit [matches Carter] cause he’s from Florida and crocodiles come from Florida.”
