FOX recently gave fans of The Masked Singer their very first look at Season 4’s costumes. Here are some of the guesses already being made for the new line-up of contestants in The Masked Singer Season 4.
None of the new contestants on The Masked Singer have sung a note onscreen yet – but that hasn’t stopped the show’s ever-alert fanbase from making their early predictions. A ‘Super Sneak Peek’ special aired on September 13 and showed all 16 new costumes in action for the first time. Prior to this, each one had been revealed in photographic form.
Now armed with clues about their new favourite characters, viewers of The Masked Singer Season 4 now have more informed ideas of who each contestant could be, rather than basing it off who would wear the particular costume. Who do you think are behind the masks? Let’s take a look at what people have been saying.
The first costume revealed, Crocodile has divided the fanbase in trying to deduce their gender, possessing extravagant clothing and a flamboyant personality. Some early guesses on Twitter have included rapper Snoop Dogg, actor Taron Egerton, NFL star Tim Tebow, and blogger Perez Hilton.
Since sprouting up in the Super Sneak Peek, this vegetable-inspired mask has inspired a number of potential candidates. Taking to Twitter again, some of these names include actors such as Bill Murray and Seth Rogen, NBA star Lebron James as well as comedian Jon Lajoie.
Certain to set The Masked Singer stage alight, early guesses for Dragon include businessman Mark Cuban, actor Ashton Kutcher, baseball player Barry Bonds and Imagine Dragons lead vocalist Dan Reynolds.
Well-dressed and towering over their competition in Season 4, Giraffe will be a competitor to look out for. Some guesses for who is behind the mask range from Backstreet Boys member Kevin Richardson, NFL quarterback Peyton Manning, fashion consultant and television personality Tim Gunn, and former Downton Abbey actor Dan Stevens.
Shining brightly on the competition, the Sun is yet another mask that has inspired a variety of guesses and theories. These include gymnast Shawn Johnson, singers Lady Gaga and Diana Ross as well as reality TV star Kylie Jenner.
Between bearing a resemblance to classic film character ET as well as being ambiguous about their gender, Mushroom is already throwing people off their scent. Some guesses for their identity include actors Neil Patrick Harris and Billy Porter as well as Euphoria actress Zendaya.
Centre stage for Season 4 is Popcorn, joining what is already an eclectic group of costumes. Some guesses to the performer’s true identity include actresses Julia Roberts and Sofia Carson as well as singer/actress Miley Cyrus. The latter’s ex, Cody Simpson, won the first season of The Masked Singer Australia in 2019.
Emerging from under beds and inside cupboards, the Gremlin is bringing their unique musical talents to The Masked Singer Season 4. Guesses for who is hiding underneath the furry exterior are actor Donnie Wahlberg (also the husband of panelist Jenny McCarthy) as well as Corey Feldman, child star of The Goonies and Stand By Me.
Two heads are better than one – and that’s certainly the case for the Snow Owls. The pair are making Masked Singer history as the first duo to ever take to the stage, competing under one unified costume. Since the Sneak Peek, fans have guessed Tim McGraw and Faith Hill, Brie and Nikki Bella as well as Derek and Julianne Hough.
Squiggly Monster is certainly one of the more unusual masks in Season 4, if not the whole series. At this point, it isn’t even known if they are a good singer. Nonetheless, some online guesses have included composer Danny Elfman and TV personality Kate Gosselin.
Swimming up to surface to take part in The Masked Singer, Jellyfish will also be a presence in Season 4. Some of the early guesses for this character have ranged from WWE Superstar Naomi (Trinity Fatu) and newly minted Dancing With The Stars host, Tyra Banks.
Aiming to put their money where their mouth is in Season 4, Lips will also perform before the four judges in a bid to remain anonymous. The character has inspired guesses including Lisa Rinna, Wendy Williams and Haylie Duff.
Following in the somewhat abstract footsteps of Thingamajig from Season 2, Whatchamacallit brings a distinct physical appearance to Season 4’s proceedings. Early guesses for who is behind the unique mask include David Copperfield, Penn Jillette and Steve Martin.
Slithering its way into the Season 4 line-up, Serpent will be looking to impress The Masked Singer judges and fans. As of now, fans believe that it could be Justin Timberlake, Pierce Brosnan or Justin Guarini could be behind the mask.
Without a shadow of a doubt, there’s been nothing quite like pint-sized Baby Alien on The Masked Singer to date. Since the character’s appearance in the Super Sneak Peek, fans have been guessing puppeteers/ventriloquists such as Darci Lynne Farmer, Jeff Dunham, and Terry Fator. However, a number of other celebrities outside this profession have also been theorized, including Lacey Chabert and Paris Jackson.
The final mask to be taking part in Season 4, the Seahorse was also among the last to have their appearance revealed prior to the Super Sneak Peek. Guesses so far have included actress Emily Blunt and rapper Cardi B.
